Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: The latest alien visitor is annoying Ianto.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
The clicking sounds coming from the containment unit in the SUV’s boot were starting to annoy Ianto. He’d been hearing them ever since he’d set off back to the Hub with the latest alien visitor safely stowed in the back, and at first he hadn’t minded, but as time had passed, the clicking had grown louder and louder, repetitious, monotonous, insistent, making it impossible for him to think of anything else. He was driving practically on autopilot.
The creature vaguely resembled a large beetle, almost a foot in length, although with ten flexible tentacles instead of jointed legs, and large orange eyes in an oddly furry blue face. It had wings, he suspected, beneath the burnished copper carapace, but he hadn’t seen them. It wasn’t particularly heavy despite its size, so it would possibly be able to fly, if those hidden wings were big and strong enough…
As he’d installed it in the containment box, Ianto had thought it quite cute, in a buggy sort of way, but now it was getting on his nerves. An alien click beetle. Wonderful. Not.
It wasn’t until he arrived back that Jack explained it was trying to talk to him. In Morse Code.
